Different, not less

April 10, 2017

Did you know autism is the fastest-growing developmental disorder in the U.S.? Autism now affects 1 in 68 children and 1 in 42 boys, whom are 5x more likely to have this disorder.

The proof is in the pudding. And everyday, families are struggling with the news that their child has autism. In fact, every 11 minutes, someone receives a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Those numbers are crazy, but true!

Now having had a child of my own, these sorts of things that I looked past, and never thought about before, are increasingly becoming more prevalent in my mind. You want to give your child everything as it is, but to know they are struggling from the inside, and can’t quite tell you what it is that makes them feel different, is a whole other story.

Disorders like these truly tug at my heartstrings, and make me want to jump right up out of my seat and do something. This is a large reason of why I joined Stella & Dot. Sure, their jewelry is beautiful, and the empowerment they give woman is extraordinary. However, what really intrigued me about the company was the many ways they give back. And autism is one of them.

For the last 5 years, every April, Stella & Dot has partnered with the HollyRod Foundation. This organization was founded by Holly Robinson Peete, and her husband Rodney Peete as a way to provide compassionate care to those living with autism, and their families. I love that part of it. The families. It’s where it all begins. It’s where these children grow, learn, and are supported most. But, on average, autism costs a family more than $65,000 a year!!

With that being said, we’re offering 4 different bracelets that support this foundation, for ONLY $19! All bracelets come in specialty packaging with self-envelope, and make a great gifts! See the beautiful options below:
