It’s no secret that I LOVE the Bohemian style. Everything from the beautiful succulents, intricate wicker chairs, and hand-woven macrame makes me oooo and ahhh! If you’re a boho bride looking for inspiration on how to incorporate these desert-like elements into your big day, then you came to the right place. Today we’re sharing how to create your own boho oasis right here in Chicago! -Lauren
How to Execute Your Bohemian Dream:
Find a venue that speaks to you. Whether it’s a blank space with good bones or a venue that’s already perfect, find something that speaks to your soul. A few of my favorite spaces in the Chicago area are Salvage One, Warehouse 109, Company 251, Bohemian House, and Gallery 1028.
Choose a few Indie vendors. Look outside of the normal wedding vendor list and find someone unexpected to execute your vision. Indie Wed always has an amazing selection of the coolest and most unique people to work with.
Let your girls choose their own looks. Give them a color palette and let them run free! The mix and match look is true to the bohemian style, and it’s pretty adorable. You don’t want everything to be so matchy, matchy anyways, so let each girl wear what they like and we promise your photos will turn out gorgeous.
Lots of braids, flower crowns and succulents. Are you surprised? You can’t have enough of any of these things. In fact, if I could have afforded it, I would have gave everyone a flower crown upon arrival to my wedding! LOL Go with bright flower colors, especially if all your girls are wearing more muted dresses. Oh, and don’t forget…you can always put succulents on your cake too. 🙂
Use vintage details. Go to flea markets, yard sales, or vintage markets and scrounge for some really cool, unique old pieces that you can use on your big day. These small details will give your wedding all of the character it needs to be boho. We love candelabras, bright color candles, vintage rugs, and old furniture.
