If you know me, you already know that Andrew and I go to a LOT of weddings. Being a professional wedding guest is pretty much my side job at this point, and I’m not mad about it. It gives us the chance to get all dolled up, drink champagne, and spend time with our friends. However, if you go to as many weddings as I do, your bank account is probably hurting just as bad! Needless to say, I’m still one of those girls that needs something new to wear, so I’m constantly on the hunt for dresses that are flattering and affordable. Rent the Runway is the answer to my prayers. Honestly, I rent dresses from here all of the time, and they never cease to amaze me with the quality and prices. I’ve even done their Unlimited program a few times and it’s been totally worth every penny. Andrew likes to say that I have champagne taste on a beer budget (ha), but I’m here to prove him wrong! Today I’m sharing my top 5 wedding guest dresses for fall, and they’re all under $50 from RTR.
The Lace Dress
This is actually one of my favorite dresses of all time. Seriously, I would wear it a million times again if no one noticed! The purple color, cinched waist, and ruffled hem made me feel so sexy and feminine without showing off too much, and it was surprisingly giving. It’s the perfect dress for a little fancier of a wedding this fall, and it’s just $45.
The Jumpsuit
Every girl needs to own a jumpsuit. They are flattering on every body type and in case you were wondering, they’re totally acceptable to wear at a wedding. This black little number is available for just $45 to rent. You’re guaranteed to feel comfortable all night long.
The Floral Dress
For the fall season, I like to make sure my floral (or pattern) dresses are a darker color and a little heavier material so they don’t seem summery. Let me tell you…vintage floral clothing will never go out of style. I am a huge fan of this look because you won’t feel like you’re standing out too much, but just enough to make people wonder where you got that beautiful dress that looks really expensive.
The Glam Dress
Simple but classic is the perfect way to dress for a “black tie” optional wedding. I rocked the strapless Periwinkle dress for a summer wedding, but I really think it can translate nicely for fall weather with a dark grey top coat and nude heels. I’m also DYING to wear this black Paper Crown dress at some point!! If you couldn’t tell by now, I’m a huge fan of ruffles. <3
The Sleeve Dress
The big sleeves are totally on trend right now. I’m trying to decide which one to rent for a intimate garden wedding I have next month in the city. I love the ruffle details on the first one and the cold shoulder/big bell sleeve combo on the second, not to mention the army green color is fabulous on both pieces. AND both are only $30 to rent…outfit change?
