Our 2017 Family Friendly Gift Guide

    December 7, 2017

We can’t believe how quickly December is going! Christmas is going to be here before we know it, so it’s time to step up our shopping game and make sure we have gifts under the tree for everyone. It sounds stressful – we know. But that’s why we’re so excited to share our first annual holiday gift guide with ya’ll! We’ve included our favorite gift ideas for everyone in the family (him, her, little ones and furry friends), in the hopes it will help ease your holiday-buying stress level. We’ll get right to it, but please leave a comment below and share your favorite gifts with us!

    For Him

    1. Men’s Slim Fit Long Sleeve Button Down Shirt from Target

Lauren bought this shirt for Andrew in the green color and he loved it. It’s a little thicker than a normal button down, which makes it perfect for the winter season. We’d recommend buying this shirt in multiple colors, just because it is so cozy and affordable.

    2. Nike PG1 Basketball Shoe

Ball is life. Or so Andrew says. We’ll admit we don’t know a ton about men’s basketball shoes (ha), but this shoe came recommended from a friend, and Lauren knows that Andrew would love getting this pair for Christmas.

    3. Bose SoundSport In-Ear Bluetooth Headphones

You can’t really go wrong with Bose. These headphones are sweat- and weather-resistant with Bluetooth technology to keep wires out of the way – perfect for working out! Lauren got a similar Bose pair for her dad for Christmas.

    4. White Christmas Plaid Tie from The Tie Bar

Give him the cutest plaid tie to rock at all your upcoming holiday parties, or even to ring in the New Year! It comes in two colors, Burgundy or Hunter Green, and we’re obsessed. Plus, it’s only $20! Maybe a perfect stocking-stuffer idea?

    5. BottleLoft from UncommonGoods

These clever refrigerator strips keep the bottles high, with extra space below it. The strips feature 3 super strong magnets that adhere to the bottle tops keeping them handy for the guy that loves to grab a cool one.

    6. Soul Socks Subscription

If your guy is anything like our guys, they love funky socks. This is the perfect kind of gift that keeps on giving all year round. The prints are awesome, and they’ll always stand out in the crowd!

    For Her

    1. Flannel Plaid Pajama Set from J. Crew

Lauren was gifted a similar PJ set from J. Crew last year and they’re the BEST. These are so soft and cozy, you could literally wear them to lounge around all day long. It seems that pajamas are never something we buy for ourselves, but everyone always loves being gifted them!

    2. Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

We love the Naked palettes from Urban Decay, and the new Heat colors have really caught our eye. The amber-hued neutrals are stunning, and we think this is a must-have for any beauty guru!

    3. Flowers for Dreams Bouquet Subscription

Okay, what girl doesn’t love fresh flowers?! We’d die to have fresh cut blooms in our homes every week (boys, we hope you’re reading this one)! This is the perfect gift for the girl who already has it all. It’s something out of the ordinary, and it’s a sure-fire way to make her smile. You can sign up for weekly, bi-weekly or a monthly bouquet subscription, and if you don’t live in Chicago, you can find a similar online company here.

    4. Velvet Tank Top from J. Crew

Something she’ll feel sexy in, and show that you know her style. The velvet shirts are all the rage right now, and it’s not surprising that Laura already has it! It comes in Black and Copper Rose. Check out our Instagram next week to see how she styled it.

    5. Cluse Minuit Mesh Watch

This watch is one of our favorites. Watches are a classic, and timeless (get it? hehe) gift that every girl adores. You can never have too many! Simple and elegant best describes this beauty.

    6. Covet Pave Initial Necklace from Stella & Dot

Laura wears this necklace, and the Covet Intention necklace together for a layered look EVERY DAY. She never takes it off, which is perfect for anyone that is always on the go, or not! It looks great with a t-shirt, but also dressed up with your favorite blouse. With real, conflict-free diamonds, there’s no doubt this necklace will impress the lucky lady who receives it.

    7. Monat Magnify Haircare System

Extreme volume never looked so good! This shampoo kit is unlike anything on the market. Any beauty-loving lady will want this. She’ll be thanking you the minute she sees how vibrant her hair looks. Laura uses these products (and just signed up as a partner last week-stay tuned!) and she SWEARS by them. Silky smooth hair starts here!

    For Little Ones

    1. Fleece Bear Robe from Gap

This snuggly bear robe is on Griffin’s Christmas list this year. I mean…need we say more?!

    2. Arts & Crafts Library Kit

For the kid who loves to craft (ages 6 and up)! Make sure you get an OK from mom first though, arts and crafts are great, but can be a total mess! Perhaps buying a smock to go with it is a good idea 😉

    3. Mini Me Pajamas

How frickin’ cute are these “Mini Me” pajamas for a little girl?! Gah, we love this idea for your grand daughter, daughter or niece. Such a fun way to make them feel special 🙂 Also, if you’ve never heard of this company, you’ve gotta check them out. Their swimsuits are awesome!!

    4. High-Top Sneakers from Zara

For the boy who’s into fashion and shoes…or their parents are anyway. 😉 You would definitely be considered the ‘cool’ aunt or mom if you gift these for Christmas. Griffin has a similar pair, and they go perfect with any outfit!

    5. Otteroo

Parent tested, baby loved, and pediatrician approved. Otteroo transforms bath time into instant fun, exercise and enrichment for infants starting 8+ weeks. Laura can’t wait to get Griffin this for next summer. It will give him the freedom to feel like he’s swimming, but in a safe way. Plus, it will teach him to use his arms and legs to move.

    6. Anywhere Chair from Pottery Barn

Kids love having a chair all to their own. This is perfect for that independent child! Plus, the insert comes off to wash, or exchange out the covers. We love this classic gingham print. And if you’re like us, you’ll buy one that matches your home decor too. 😉

    For our Furry Friends

    1. Blue Bits Training Treats

Did we mention that Andrew bought Lauren a puppy for Christmas?! It was the most precious surprise ever! So needless to say, they’re in full puppy training mode and found that these little treats are perfect for a pup. Gift these treats with any of the below ideas to make for a beautiful gift basket.

    2. Plaid Pet Bed by Hearth & Hand

Who doesn’t want their family pet to sleep on a bed made by Joanna & Chip Gaines?! It serves as a comfy spot for your furry friend and makes a great accent piece in any home. Anything plaid has our hearts <3

    3. Ombre Rope Dog Leash

Impress your family or friends with a personalized dog leash for their fur-ball that they can use to walk their dog in style. Perfect for small or medium sized dogs. It’s heavy duty too, making sure it lasts for years to come.

    4. Dog Bowl Water Bottle

For the pets that are always on the go. If you have active friends that take their animal everywhere they go, try gifting them with this really nifty water bottle. With just a squeeze, the attached dish fills with water – how cool!? And it comes with a velcro strap so you can attach it to any backpack you own!

    5. Chuckit! Ball Launcher

Dogs love to run, and get their energy out. This one makes it easy on the owner, if you’ve got the space! It goes farther and faster then a human throw, PLUS the best part about it is you never have to bend down and pick up the slobbery ball again. Laura’s dog Tuck loves this…and she does too!

    6. KONG Dog Toy

Pups go crazy over these things! You can fill the opening with peanut butter, or treats, and it will keep he or she happy, and busy all day long.
