    Fall Bucket List

    October 26, 2017

Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year, but it’s so short! There’s so many things I want to do each year…especially now with Griffin being the age he is. But, the time is limited before the temperature turns for the worst, and our ground is snow covered…yuck!

Growing up, my parents always made each season (and holiday for that matter) something really special. We would do all the stereotypical autumn activities, decorate the house, make warm meals, and bake goodies. Our house always smelled like fall it seemed. I consistently took that for granted simply because I thought that’s what everyone else did too!

Now that I’ve grown wiser, I know that isn’t the case. Nevertheless, I want to carry the same traditions on to Griffin. Ok, so maybe he’s still a bit young, and won’t remember these memories just yet, but I think part of me wants to have that same “warm” feeling from when I was young to cling on to. Hence this blog post!

I’m sharing a list of some must-have fall activities to do through the remainder of October and November.

    Fall Bucket List

    1. Carve a pumpkin.
    2. Decorate for fall (see my tips for creating Fall Curb Appeal here).
    3. Attend a college football game, and tailgate.
    4. Go hiking (I recommend Starved Rock in Utica, IL. The colors are beautiful!)
    5. Read a new book (check out my favorite reads here).
    6. Attend an outdoor fall festival.
    7. Make your Halloween costume (we offer great suggestions here)
    8. Have a bonfire, complete with s’mores…yum!
    9. Take a hot air balloon ride – the colors from above will be gorgeous!
    10. Bake a pumpkin pie. Or maybe you prefer pumpkin bread…this recipe is one of my favorites!
    11. Watch a scary movie.
    12. Take a cooking class.
    13. Send notes to friends and family telling them why you’re thankful for them this Thanksgiving.
    14. Make a homemade candle (try this fabulous recipe).
    15. Open your windows to let the crisp air in.

What kinds of fall traditions do you have? Be sure to share them below!

    xoxo,
    Laura
