    Lauren’s Makeup Makeover

    January 23, 2018

Is it weird to say that my makeup needed a makeover? I’ve been wearing the same makeup for as long as I can remember, and I’m not really one to spend a whole lot of money on it either. I normally go to Target and pick out whatever looks pretty and has a cheap price tag. BUT, I’m turning 30 in a few months (eek) and I feel like I deserve to buy myself nicer things.

So, for Christmas I asked for gift cards to Sephora and Ulta with the intent to go on a mini makeup shopping spree! SIDE NOTE —> did you know if you plan to spend $50 at Sephora, you can get your makeup done for FREE at the store? Also – if you are a beauty/makeup guru and spend $1,000/year at Sephora (whoa), you can get your makeup done for free whenever you want?! Ah-mazing. I scheduled an appointment online ahead of time, which was super easy! On the day of, I explained to the makeup artist that I wanted something fresh and dewy for my every day work look. However, she ended up going a little heavy on the eyes for my taste. but overall, I really loved how flawless my skin looked. I ended up buying a lot of the products she used on me, and I’m sharing them all today! Now, go treat yourself, ladies. xoxo – Lauren

    Products I Purchased:

    1. Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer – $32

    2. Too Faced Born This Way Foundation – $39

To be honest, I’d never heard of the brand, Too Faced, but I’ve become instantly obsessed. The primer is infused with coconut water, and helps boost your skin’s radiance while hydrating and locking down your makeup for a fresher, more longer-lasting look. The foundation also matched my skin perfectly. She applied it with the Beauty Blender, but I ended up saving a few dollars and purchased the Real Techniques sponge instead (below in orange).

    3. Real Techniques Instapop Cheek Brush ($9.99) and Complexion Sponge ($5,99)

Confession….I’ve never bought myself an actual blush brush or sponge. I always just use whatever comes in the little compact or my fingers….(you guys should have seen the girl’s face when I told her that – ha. It was like I had just committed a crime). Needless to say, I’m going to slowly build up my brush options 🙂

    4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Blush Trio (in Pink Passion) – $30

    5. Make Up For Ever Highlighter (in Golden Pink) – $39

These were two things that I really needed – blush and a highlighter. I love that the Anastasia blush comes with three different color options, or you can even blend all three together for a softer look. My previous highlighter was a stick, but I like the powder so much more now. You can pretty much use it anywhere on your face! TRICK —> use a small brush and outline the bottom of your eyebrows with the highlighter. Then, take that same brush and highlight the corners of your eyes. It will instantly make everything POP!

    6. Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist – $48 (I bought the travel size for $20)

Here is where the dewiness comes in! You spray one to two pumps on your face and you’ll be glowing all day long. I can’t believe I didn’t know this existed before! It completed the look I’ve always wanted, but never knew how to get it. Also, Kim K. supposedly uses this, so it must be good. 🙂

Okay, so that’s all I could afford on this trip, BUT you can shop ALL the products she used on me below. I’m thinking I might have to go back for the lipstick and  concealer soon…
